Fix the 808 first
Tune tracks fundamentals from 22–400 Hz, with chromatic or key-and-scale correction. Glide-aware detection waits for a slide to settle before accepting a new target.
Sub Rebuild replaces the fundamental with a clean sine that follows the original pitch and envelope, preserving attack and upper harmonics. Phase Lock restarts the rebuilt sub predictably on an 808 hit or incoming kick.
Tail shortens decay or extends sustain independently of pitch. Transpose by ±12 semitones and fine-tune by ±50 cents.
Make it survive the speaker
Phone Harmonics adds a controlled series between 250 Hz and 1.2 kHz. Phone Tone moves those harmonics from warm and rounded to forward and present.
The Translation Meter estimates how much energy survives the effective low-frequency limits of phone, laptop, earbuds, car and club systems. Listen As lets you audition their playback curves inside the plugin.
Distort the character. Keep the sub clean.
MASS brings drive, character, phone harmonics and punch together. Ten Material distortion characters use 4× oversampling, filtering generated low-frequency content away to keep the fundamental clean.
Growl moves filtering and distortion in tempo, with five shapes, resonance and divisions from 1/1 to 1/16 triplets. Add a phase-locked octave or fifth with Octave Layer and Power Layer.
Punch brings the first milliseconds forward; Click adds a short, tone-adjustable transient for definition.
Turn one 808 into an instrument
INPUT processes your track. SYNTH plays the built-in 808 from MIDI. CATCH captures the next hit as a chromatic instrument and stores it with the session.
Shape the synth with DECAY and DROP. Slide between MIDI notes with Linear, Expo or Drill curves; choose LEGATO or ALWAYS. Drill can overshoot before settling.
Event Horizon collapses the tail’s pitch by up to two octaves, freely or in sync with the song.
Make space for the kick
Feed your kick into the sidechain for Kick Duck, with level-normalized detection and an adjustable release. Phase Lock to Kick restarts the rebuilt sub from zero phase for a repeatable relationship.
The timeline shows 808 hits, kick hits and ducking together. Keep the fundamental mono while Width spreads the upper character layers.
Finish the low end
Choose Soft or Hard clipping with an adjustable ceiling. Latency-compensated Dry/Wet and bypass keep comparisons aligned; Output controls the final level.
MUTATE creates variations with separate locks for core processing, character, motion and mix.
