HOW A THROW WORKS

It listens.Then it throws.

A delay throw is the echo you only hear on the last word of a line. Normally that means drawing send automation for every phrase. FJORD does it while you play.

Listen.
FJORD follows your voice in 10 ms steps. Breaths and sibilants are not mistaken for words, and it adapts to the level of the take.
Catch.
When the voice pauses longer than SENSE, the phrase is over. FJORD catches the last word, up to the LENGTH you set.
Throw on time.
The word lands in the echo exactly one delay period after you sang it, as if the send had been opened by hand. No latency, no drift.

THROW STYLES

Six ways to throw a word.

TAPE

Warm repeats with wow, flutter and saturation that darken with every pass.

PING-PONG

The thrown word bounces from left to right across the mix.

HALFTIME

The word comes back at half speed, an octave lower and twice as long.

REVERSE

The last word plays backwards into the next line. Instant transition.

SHIMMER

Every repeat climbs an octave and melts into a long space.

PHONE

A narrow, gritty telephone echo that cuts through any beat.

Phrase Duck

While you sing, echoes and space step back so every word stays clear. In the pauses they bloom. Phrase Duck follows the same voice detection as the throws, so it reacts to singing, not to every peak.

Word Freeze

Hold the last word as an endless, softly moving pad. Press FREEZE, hold MIDI note C#1, or switch on AUTO and FJORD freezes every line end until you sing again.

Throw Map

Every throw gets a marker on your song timeline. Too many on the second chorus? Click one to mute it. Stored throws replay the same way on every pass and are saved with your project.
